The Aurora Women’s Choir, conducted by Andrew Cranston, was formed in September 2014 as part of CSCA’s expansion. The group is auditioned, accepts new members in September and January, and performs both a Spring and a Christmas concert each year, along with an Annual Kitchen Party fundraiser and other appearances.
Aurora aims to challenge the singer and performs mainly a cappella music, and explores multi-part repertoire of all styles. The choir achieved a Gold standard at the 2015 Rotary Music Festival, represented Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2016 Unisong Music Festival in Ottawa where they had the distinct privilege of participating in a special ceremony commemorating the 100th anniversary of Beaumont-Hamel, and was most recently invited to sing at the Town of Conception Bay South’s Remembrance Day and Canada Day Ceremonies.
Rehearsals are held on Sunday nights from 7 to 9 PM at Topsail United Church. For information about how to audition, please contact us at email@example.com.
